Soda

Sodium bicarbonate, other names: sodium bicarbonate, drinking or food soda, sodium bicarbonate - a chemical inorganic substance, sodium acid salt of carbonic acid with the chemical formula NaHCO3.

In its usual form, it is a fine-crystalline white powder.

It is used in industry, food industry, in medicine as a neutralizer of chemical burns of the skin and mucous membranes with concentrated acids and to reduce the acidity of gastric juice. Also used in buffer solutions.

It occurs naturally in the form of the nahcolite mineral.
